Guy made me laugh out load today re Spiers charity para jump
(why do I have to pay for someone to enjoy themselves in the name of charity? Never understood that concept!)

I'm a little dubious that hes found a uk company prepared to let him do a static line jump with only one days training in the uk.
If its square chute it makes it more feasable but 1940s jumps by non military personel are completly uninsurable in the uk....

I assumed he meant a regular recreational modern parachute drop but wearing his WW2 clobber - not that the chute was WW2?
Well whats it matter ? It's all for charity and I'm sure the details wil come out if it goes ahead. 
Either way they dont normally let you jump in wwii kit and they dont normally let you do static line.

What matters is that punters pay for him to have a two day jolly in the name of charity. Not at all keen on these commercialised masquerades for fund raising - I won't be dipping my hand in my pocket!
No wait a minute - pay me £500 for a pukka new British load out and I'll pass £50 on to good causes - promise!
From my mates experience of doing one of these (albeit as a tandem jump with the paras) the jumpers have ot get a certain level of sponsorship for the event organiser ot put it on for free. The organsiers can write off the costs againts tax as charitable donation, some charity gets a bung and some numpty gets ot jump out of a plane .
Can't really see the harm TBH .
Hmmm seems like the majority of the money is going to pay for the jump...
I thought the idea of these things was that the person doing the jump paid for it and the ALL the sponsorship money went to charity.
I certainly will not be paying anything towards this...
